Every piece of writing in the Institute's catalogue is built around four flags, applied at the sentence or paragraph level:

Established — settled science with strong empirical support.

Frontier — active research, partly known, with credible momentum.

Speculative — theoretically grounded but not yet demonstrated.

Handwave — required by a narrative or thought experiment but not by present science. Sometimes useful, always labelled.

The flags are the discipline. They are how we keep imagination and inquiry honest about which is which.
